After clearing through the first ten bosses the previous week, Aegis Hestia chose to extend their raid this week. We’d previously brought Sindragosa to below 10% health, and with the new 25% raid buff this week, we knew we’d have her down in short order. And take her down we did, on our very first try! Congratulations, everyone!

We then spent the rest of the evening working on the Lich King. We made it easily through phases one and two and got a number of looks at phase three before running out of time. Still, it’s only a matter of time before his frostiness goes down!

Aegis Hestia has struggled with the two endbosses for the Plagueworks and Crimson Halls, but after bringing them below 10% on our previous two raid nights, we knew it was only a matter of time before they fell.

We started the night in Professor Putricide’s Laboratory of Alchemical Horrors and Fun. It took a couple of attempts to get back into the groove, but our “druid shuffle” put us up over the top and we were finally able to bring him down! Good news Great work, everyone! Now we know the secret is to make all our druids switch specs before attempting new bosses. . . .

We had plenty of time after finishing the Plagueworks and since we’d already cleared the Blood Princes, we headed over to pay another visit to Blood-Queen Lana’thel. Our first attempt wasn’t that pretty, but our second went perfectly and we were able to rid the world of yet another melodramatic menace. Congratulations, Aegis Hestia!

Now it’s off to work on Sindragosa and The Lich King! Good luck!

After finally downing Sindragosa last week, Aegis Hestia sent a small force into Icecrown Citadel this week to once again test their mettle against the mighty Lich King. Despite a slow start with a chain of AFK’s, the guild was able to put it all together to end the night with Arthas dead at our feet! Awesome job, guys, and congratulations to everyone who has participated in our progression raids. Good luck with heroic modes!

With Antipas taking a much-needed break from Warcraft, Aegis Hestia has found itself short an officer. Although there was not an overwhelming need to name a replacement, the other officers felt this would be a perfect opportunity to recognize Linesko’s contributions to the guild, particularly in his analysis of our raid encounters. Congratulations, sucker Linesko!

It’s hard to believe, but today marks the fourth anniversary of Aegis Hestia’s founding! It’s been quite a ride so far: Molten Core, Onyxia’s Lair, Blackwing Lair, Ahn’Qiraj, Zul’Gurub, Karazhan, Gruul’s and Magtheridon’s Lairs, Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, Zul’Aman, Mount Hyjal, Black Temple, Naxxramas, Ulduar, Onyxia’s Lair (again!), Trial of the Crusader and now Icecrown Citadel! And throughout it all, Aegis Hestia has remained true to its original vision: a strong raiding guild with a friendly atmosphere and a casual-friendly schedule.

Congralutations and thank you to everyone who has played a part in making Aegis Hestia such a success. Here’s to you, and to those who will play a part in the next year of Aegis Hestia’s raiding!

With summer approaching, Aegis Hestia is reopening recruitment for a few additional raiders to ensure appropriate class balance and to keep our raids full as players take vacations. If you’re interested in joining us as we march towards the Lich King’s lair, please take a look at our recruitment page.

At this time, we are actively looking for the following classes:

• Paladin (1 holy) Filled
• Rogues (1-2 of any spec)

In addition, we are looking for 2-3 additional players beyond those classes. We would prefer applicants for the following:

• Death Knight (DPS of any spec)
• Mage (any spec)
• Priest (holy or discipline)
• Shaman (enhancement)
• Warlock (any spec, prefer demo)

Our current raiding schedule consists of 25-player Icecrown Citadel on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8-11 Central time, and non-DKP 10-player ICC raids on Saturday from 8-11. Invites begin fifteen minutes before raid starting times.

Congratulations to Draezele for being the first in the guild to achieve It’s Over Nine Thousand! for earning over 9,000 achievement points.

A raid without Antipas and another guild first…. Okay, so maybe it’s just coincidence. Or is it? Either way, Aegis Hestia rolled through the Lower Spire as usual before taking a right turn into the Frostwing Halls. After passing through the gauntlet, Aegis Hestia faced off against the Scourge protecting the captured green dragon. Only three healers were sent into the Emerald Dream this time, but combined with better management of the waves of bad guys, it was more than sufficient. It took several tries, each one better than the last (including an unfortunate wipe with less than 100k health left to heal!), but in the end Aegis Hestia was victorious. Great job pulling everything together and good luck working on the final bosses of each wing!

With a sad heart, I have to pass along the report that we have lost one of the best of our own. Raliah passed away two days ago from liver cancer, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, as I will. There is a post from Arihannah in the forums who was gracious to let us know.

Well, I don’t ever write these, and normally never would about myself, but I have to brag this time. After doing first the one then both since the week they rolled out the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza how many years ago, I’ve finally completed it!
