Our Origins
The founding members of Aegis Hestia were originally members of the roleplay guild, The Hearthguard. On April 28, 2006, the guild branched into two smaller guilds: The Thorium Phalanx and Aegis Hestia. Aegis Hestia was created to give interested Hearthguard members the opportunity to experience end-game content. Our guild name is derived from aspects of Greek mythology: The Aegis was the shield of Zeus and was later wielded by his daughter, Athena. Hestia was known as the Greek goddess of the hearth. Our guild name, Aegis Hestia, means “protectors of the hearth,” representing our allegiance to the larger Hearthguard.
Raiding Guild
Aegis Hestia is a raiding guild. Prior to Burning Crusade, we successfully completed Zul’Gurub, the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj, Onyxia and Molten Core. We also made several forays into Blackwing Lair, but did not complete it prior to the expansion’s release. In Burning Crusade, we successfully completed Kharazan, Zul’Aman, Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, and about half of Black Temple. Wrath Of the Lich King saw our best performance yet. We remained a top 10 guild throughout the entire expansion, even getting some realm first achievements. We completed all hardmodes in Ulduar, ToC and about 3/4 of HM ICC. We completed all tiers of normal mode content in WoTLK.
The guild typically raids three nights a week and we strive for flexibility in our schedules to accommodate as many players as possible. Raids currently run from 8 to 11 CST (server time), although weekend raids will occasionally start at 7:30. There is no attendance requirement for raiding, although availability is often taken into consideration during raid invites.
To help ensure fairness of item distribution based on member contribution, we employ a DKP System for our 25 man raids. 10 man raids are freeroll.
Things to Remember
Players must be mature, friendly, flexible, and willing to help out if needed. Our guild is built on teamwork and our guild members need to be team players. There is no need for whining, excessive drama, or personal offense. If there are issues within the guild, they will be resolved in an adult manner; those who cannot operate in this way will be removed from the guild.
This is a game, and we’re here to have fun. Although we are a raiding guild, we strive to be “casual-friendly” and recognize that everyone has commitments outside of the game and differing levels of interest in raiding.
If you have a specific issue with a member, officer, or a decision made by an officer, please contact the guild leader (Gaijuu/Jijisan/Gizoku) or another officer directly via a whisper. We will resolve the matter as quickly as possible and in the best interest of everyone involved.
Each player is responsible for maintaining a good reputation with the community at large. There will always be conflicting personalities and people who do not get along with each other, but letting personal issues become a negative reflection on you or the guild is unacceptable.
